Historic cup run ends in first-ever trophy triumph

A 5–0 quarter-final, a semi settled off the bench, and a final won inside ten seconds — our first-ever cup.

Our cup run will go down as one of the most memorable journeys in the club’s history — and it ended with our first-ever cup.

It began emphatically in the quarter-finals, where we beat London Hibernians Second XI 5–0. A complete performance: our attacking play and defensive organisation left our opponents no way back.

The semi-final was a sterner test, against an Imperial College side who had held us to a 2–2 draw in the league only weeks earlier. The match was finely balanced until our strength in depth told. Iffy and Marley came off the bench and combined for three second-half goals to send us through — proof of the quality right across the squad.

Waiting in the final were familiar rivals Parkside FC. We had already beaten them to the league title, and we knew they would come for revenge — and we knew what another win would mean.

The final could hardly have started better. David fired us ahead inside the opening ten seconds: the perfect start, and Parkside on the back foot straight away. Ryan then scored what many are calling the goal of the season — a stunning strike late in the first half to double our lead.

From there we showed the resilience and composure that defined our season. Parkside pushed to get back into it, but we stood firm and saw the game out to lift the trophy.

The final whistle sparked scenes of celebration as the club lifted its first-ever cup. From the quarter-final, through a hard-fought semi, to a final won against our biggest rivals, it was a run that captured everything about this team — quality, character, and the will to keep going for each other.

Cup Winners. History Makers.
